The 1999 MBA Class of North China Electricity University in Beijing in collaboration with IEWU will have its graduation in the end of this Semester.

     In recent months the web pages of International East-West University (IEWU) have been subject to unauthorized, misleading and even intentionally malicious alternations and changes made by our former webmaster. This has caused a great deal of confusion and created concern and misunderstanding among our friends.
     Here we wish to let our faculty, students, alumni, friends and public know that we have gained control of our domain name and have eliminated those false representations and misrepresentations and we are now in the process of reconstructing our web pages.
     We wish specifically to make the following announcement:
     1. International East-West University has been always located in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA from the first day of its very founding in 1985 to the present day. We do not recognize any legitimacy of "North America Campus" or a same-name entity as International East-West University in Los Angeles or any other place. This University has a record of long-term good standing since 1985. Beside itself, it has not authorized establishment of any other organization in USA.
     2. International East-West University has successfully registrated a domain name iewu.edu at Networksolutions in October 1997. This domain name (iewu.edu) exclusively belongs to the International East-West University beginning with October 1997 and continues to this present day. No other organization or company is allowed to take possession of this domain name.
     3. As the Founder and President of International East-West University, Professor Chung-ying Cheng legally represents the University. There is no one else who has the right to represent the University.
     4. The so-called "International Eastern Webster University", which suddenly came into existence in July 2001, apparently named after our domain name (iewu.edu), has no affiliation with International East-West University which is the owner and registrant of the domain name.
     5. Our collaborative programs are going strong. Even though at present time we do not belong to any regional accreditation agency, we are devoted to creditable and quality education in all its aspects. Since 2000, we have been engaged in critical self-study.
     We apologize for any resulting inconvenience to our website users.

本校前网络部主任(Webmaster)利用当时职权，侵占本校网名域名，擅意另立名目，私自对外招生，以获取利益。该君篡改本校网页，发表不实报道，造成对本校名誉极大的伤害。对此本校深表遗憾。现本校已通过法律手段重新掌握本校域名，取消该君所撰网页。特向我校有关合作单位，教职同仁，各地同学校友以及广大社会澄清事实，昭告是非曲直，并对因此事造成的不便表示歉意。

在本校未重建网页之前，本校郑重声明下列七点：

一，国际东西方大学(又名国际东西大学)，英文名 INTERNATIONAL EAST-WEST UNIVERSITY，自1985年创校以来一直位处美国夏威夷州檀香山市，我们不承认本校另有<北美校区>的存在与名称。

二，国际东西方大学于一九九七年十月成功地在Networksolutions.com注册了域名iewu.edu。该域名至今一直属于 国际东西方大学，任何其他组织或公司都不能非法拥有该域名。

三，网上曾出现的<国际东方韦伯斯特大学>一名，系假借本校域名取名，已涉侵占，并非本校建立，与本校实质也无任何关联。

四，国际东西方大学自1985基于学术及文化理想建校以来，地位一直良好，作业正常，循既定目标，持续发展，日益壮大。

五，本校创办人及现任校长成中英教授为本校唯一法人代表。除成教授本人明确授权外，任何他人无权代表本校签定协议。

六，本校为发展中大学，以学术研发成果合法建校，不以营利为目的。目前虽未属于任何地区的联合会，但其合法地位，学术地位，师资队伍，课程开拓，教学质量，学位品质，多年来人材培育的成就，不容置疑。本校对社会及业界的实质有效贡献，也历经多年考验，并受社会与有识人士肯定。在此基础上，本校迄今享有高度信誉与名声。本校结合东西方文化的特色在国际上尤独树一帜，已受到世界普遍肯定。

七，本校痛定思痛，将秉从力争上游，追求卓越之一贯作风，致力更好的国际高等教育与学位教育的推进与建树。
