Certificate of Completion </b> <P> Short intensive educational programs are offered on Chinese Philosophical Classics and Classical and Modern Chinese Philosophical Schools. These programs stress both the theoretical aspect and practical aspects of the philosophical views. For example, one can apply the Philosophy of Change to personal self-cultivation and self-improvement, apply the Principle of the Mean to conflict resolution or the Arts of War to international business and global marketing. These programs could be also adapted for skills in contemporary "philosophical counseling". <P>&#149;2. Joint Degree Programs With Leading Chinese Universities </b> <p>It is planned that Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts are collaboratively granted by the IEWU and a leading Chinese or Western university in Chinese Philosophy, Chinese History, Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese Music, Chinese Arts, and other subjects. <p> Students could be enrolled either at the IEWU Headquarters in Honolulu or at the IEWU-collaborative universities of their preference in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong or other place. They can complete core and/or specific courses either at the IEWU Headquarters or at a collaborative institution before applying for their IEWU degrees. <P>&#149; 3. Bilingual MA courses conducted in English and Chinese are offered in a Chinese/ Western university and/ or at the IEWU Headquarters in Honolulu. <P>&#149; 4. The following lists credit core courses for the MBA and EMBA degrees with three credit for each: <P><B>MBA 501. </B>Financial Accounting <br> Income measurement, asset valuation, inflation, foreign currency transactions, and consolidated financial statements with presentation and analysis of accounting data. <br><b>MBA 502. </b>Managerial Accounting <br> Analysis of relevant accounting data for managerial planning, control, and decision making, with a special attention to acquisition, and utilization of accounting resources. <br><b>MBA 503. </b>Business Microeconomics <br> Applications of economic and quantitative analysis to managerial decision problems, with an emphasis on optimization of production, cost and revenue functions, pricing and market structure, profit planning, and demand estimation. <br><b>MBA 504. </b>Probability and Business Statistics <br> Descriptive statistics, frequency and probability distributions, sampling statistical estimation, confidence intervals, deviations, hypothesis testing, variance analysis, regression models, and applications. <br><b>MBA 505. </b>Management Information Systems and Operations Research <br> Concepts, design and operation of MIS based on computer use. use of computerÓýbased analytical systems and OR models for decision making, particularly with regard to structuring and management of organizations. <br><b>MBA 506. </b>Marketing Management <br> Techniques of analysis of markets for developing, evaluating and implementing marketing strategies, marketing systems and forecasting. <br><b>MBA 507. </b>Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management <br> Analysis of organizations and organizational evolution, development, and reform interactions between organizations and related conflict resolution organizations of human resources and personnel management issues. <br><b>MBA 508. </b>World Economy and International Business <br> Trends of economical development in the modern and contemporary world, factors analysis and synthesis, stressing national and regional resources allocations, theory and practice of international business and transnational corporations. <P>&#149; The following lists specialized courses with three credits for each: <P><b>MBA 601. </b>Managerial Psychology and Intercultural Communications <br> Approach from psychology and sociology and anthropology for interpersonal relationships and personnel training and evaluation within one culture or across cultures. <br><b>MBA 602. </b>Philosophy and Theory of Chinese Management <br> A basic and foundational approach to decision- making, leadership, market responsiveness, creativity in productivity, human resources development and synergetics. Specifically, the "C" Theory will be introduced. <br><b>MBA 603. </b>Global Modeling and Quality Control Theory <br> Global systems as basis for decision- making concerning production and marketing objectives, movements of trends; Deming theory of quality control and systems improvement. <br><b>MBA 604. </b>Business Ethics<br> A fundamental and yet global and/or East-West approaches to business ethics in management, marketing, sales or financial/ human resources management. Explorations into conflicts and resolutions of conflicts between business strategies and business ethics, cultures and policies. <P>&#149; The following list specialized seminars as useful electives, with three credits for each: <br><b>MBA 701. </b>Theory of Finance <br> Financial policy and management, valuation, capital budgeting, cost of capital, acquisition of funds, current asset management, financial markets, securities and government regulations. <br><b>MBA 702. </b>Business Policy and Corporate Strategy <br> Management planning and control systems, introduction to entrepreneurial management and analysis of industry competitiveness. <br><b>MBA 703. </b>International Management and Industrial Relations <br> Different management systems and labor issues across national borders and involving regional and international markets. <br><b>MBA 704. </b> Current Issues in Comparative Management <br> American, Japanese and Chinese management philosophies, theories, systems and practices compared and evaluated for merits and possible adoption and adaptation.
